The following is the actual script which I created and executed for the
April issue of my Better Learning Communities blog post about on-boarding
people to company social networks.
There were more details than I imagined and found that I had to script
it to do it all at the correct time to create the podcast. The only tools I needed were the Accessories
recorder, a pair of headphones and a musical selection from Freepd.com:
1.
Wear headphones keeping the input (receiver)
unplugged so that the music can be heard and recorded.
2.
Open the blog post in a window
3.
Open the music player in another window below the
blog post.
4.
Set the computer volume to 100%
5.
Set the music volume to 25 and prep it to start
playing at 13 seconds. Make sure that
it is set for continuous play.
6.
Open the recorder and click on record.
7.
Click play on the music player
8.
Read the Blog Title and author’s name
9.
In this case, I quote last month’s post. Add text
10.
Lower music volume to 13.
11.
Continue with this month’s blog post
12.
Read blog trying to speak slowly and pause. (I had to practice about 4 times before
trying to record.)
13.
Pause and increase music volune to 25 again
14.
Conclude the podcast with your contact data
15.
Publish that blog!
i.
Created logo which appears to the left of the
podcast screen capture
ii.
Created logo/image especially to link from my blog
to the podcast
